BLEW

country 'uk' - made in germany
type fake
status
media 12"
label tupelo
code TUPEP8
matrix handwritten side a tupep 8 a side b tupep-8 b
notes issued around 1998 in various colours (pale green, orange, red, blue marbled, brown, clear, grey, maybe others) reissued in 2004 in clear yellow and maybe other colours.
easily recognizable, as the official issue was printed in black vinyl only. a black counterfeit hasn't ever been seen, but, to be sure, these are the things to check:
- the matrix, which is upper case in the original, and lower case in the fake
- a lower print quality of the sleeve (detail)
- a different looking text on the spine
may have a 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' sticker on the sleeve

notes several variations exist of this counterfeit
original item: blew - uk cd

variation
1
the print quality of the inlay is poor (see detail). in the original the text is printed with silver ink, while in this counterfeits it's a blurry grey. the matrix is TUP CD 8 MPO 01 @@ as in one variation of the original issue, but here it's written with different, smaller characters. the 'groove' zone of the cd is very clearly visible
status

variation
2
easily recognizable, the front inlay misses the 'compact disc' logo, the quality of the print and paper stock of the inlay is low, the matrix is NIBVANA. the credits on the inlay inside are written with a different font and spell 'Endino ar Reciprocal' instead of 'Endino at Reciprocal'. the 'groove' zone of the cd is very clearly visible

other
variations
this item has been counterfeited many times, so other variations exist.
the things to check are the matrix and the printing quality of inlay and cd
